Sugi Daddy
\nThis Amerinese beer (or Japican if you prefer) is the brain child of Okubo-san, a Japanese home brewer. Via a talented translator (Red Gillen), he and Brewmaster Alan worked out how to make it on the PINTS’ system. It used American 2-row and dextrose for a bright, clean backbone. Citra and Ekuanot hops provide lemon, lime, melon, and papaya notes that meld beautifully with the bright aromatics from the hand-planed Sugi (Japanese Cedar) it lagered on in the bright tanks. We will be serving some of this beer in a genuine Sugi Sake barrel as well as out of a Sugi-infused Randall at the festival.
\nWe are excited about having had Okubo-san out to Portland to brew with us and are looking forward to our reunion at the festival! The international angle was particularly rewarding and we hope the festival goers enjoy it!<\/span><\/p>\n
